Firefighters contain fuel leak as tanker rolls over on Dwyer Hill Road in rural south Ottawa

Ottawa Fire Services responded for a large vehicle rollover on Dwyer Hill Road on Wednesday morning. Photo by Ottawa Fire Services /Handout Firefighters were able to contain a fuel leak Wednesday morning after a large tanker rolled over on Dwyer Hill Road between Purdy and O’Neil roads. Ottawa Fire Services said 911 callers reported smoke and leaking gas coming from the vehicle at about 7:05 a.m. The driver wasn’t trapped in the vehicle and was assessed and treated by firefighters before paramedics took over care, the fire department said. Firefighters determined the smoke was from the engine overheating, but set up hoses just in case. The truck was still energized and landed under some hydro wires, but didn’t hit the lines, the fire department said.
