Live shopping on Facebook will soon be a thing of the past

Facebook now announces that after four years they will shut down their live shopping function on October 1 this year.

After the date it will no longer be possible to organize any live shopping events on Facebook . It will still be possible to broadcast via Facebook Live but without tagging products in the video.

Instead, Facebook writes that the company will focus more on Reels for Facebook and Instagram (both owned by Meta) going forward. They encourage their shopping-interested users to do the same.

It is still possible to tag products in Reels or conduct live shopping events on Instagram.
