The 22-year-old man died early in the morning in Vitry-sur-Seine. Laughing gas cartridges were found in his car.
A 22-year-old young man died this Saturday morning in Vitry-sur-Seine after consuming nitrous oxide, a laughing gas more and more widespread among adolescents, learned Le Parisien.
The man was the victim of a cardiorespiratory arrest at 6:45 a.m. while returning home after spending the night outside. Nitrous oxide cartridges and balloons were found in his vehicle.
An investigation has been opened to determine the exact causes of the tragedy. An autopsy will be performed in the coming days. The first elements of the investigation seem to confirm that the consumption of laughing gas would indeed be the cause of the death of the Ile-de-France resident.
A source close to the investigation indicated to the Parisian that “his girlfriend, who accompanied him, told the police that he had just consumed nitrous oxide”. The investigation and the autopsy will determine if the laughing gas is the only cause of the death of the young man.
