The Leicester City defender has made statements that seem to pour cold water on a move to Stamford Bridge. Fofana hinted that he would stay at the King Power Stadium this season.According to recent reports, Chelsea backed up their interest in the defender with a £70 million bid. The bid represents an increase of £7m following the first bid of £63m. Following the rejection of the £70 million bid, the Blues remain undeterred to sign the player, and Leicester expects a third bid for Fofana.Fofana not keen on Chelsea moveMany thought the £70m bid by Chelsea was enough to convince Leicester City to part with their asset, but the Foxes remained resolute in their resolve to keep the young defender.Fofana had got tongues wagging when he deleted traces of Leicester City from all his social media profiles. It led to rumours of an impending exit from the club. However, the player made nonsense of the reports when in a recent interview, he suggested that he may remain at Leicester City for the current season.Leicester City signed Fofana from Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne in 2020. It cost the Foxes £36.5m to acquire the services of the Frenchman. Since his arrival, he has made 50 appearances in all competitions for Leicester City. He helped the club win the 2020-21 FA Cup with a 1-0 win over Chelsea in the final.
