The European Council’s president, Charles Michel on Thursday mentioned that tanks “have to be delivered” to Ukraine as he visited the war-torn nation.
Michel travelled to Kyiv on the eve of a serious assembly on the US army base of Ramstein in Germany to debate army help to Ukraine on Friday.
“I firmly consider that tanks have to be delivered,” Michel tweeted after talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“We need to assist you as a result of we’re conscious that the following few weeks could also be decisive for what comes subsequent,” he wrote.
“We hear your message. You want extra air defence and artillery techniques, extra ammunition.”
Zelenskyy for his half known as his talks with Michel “significant”.
“Ukraine and the European Union have already achieved important ends in our historic rapprochement,” he tweeted.
“We’re working to attain much more.”
Zelenskyy has known as for contemporary, Western-designed heavy tanks whereas a lot of Ukraine’s allies have introduced plans to step up their army assist to Kyiv this month.
